17th Dr. MVJ Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament 2022

Every year, MVJ College of Engineering organizes sports events in memory of its Founder Dr. M. V. Jayaraman. The 17^th Dr. M. V. Jayaraman Memorial Inter-Collegiate Leather Ball Cricket Tournament – 2022 was organized from 4th May 2022 to 12th May 2022.

Sri. J. Abhiram (Former Indian cricketer and Vice-President, Karnataka State Cricket Association), Sri. Thilak Naidu (Former Indian Cricketer), Dr. P Mahabaleswarappa (Principal, MVJCE) and Dr. Brindha M (Vice-Principal, MVJCE), in the presence of Sri. Hari Hegde (PRO, MVJCE), inaugurated the tournament at the College campus, on 4th May, 2022.

The matches were held at Athena Sports Ground, Varthur-Balagere Road, Bangalore, in the presence of Dr. P Mahabaleswarappa, Sri. Hari Hegde, Sri. Franklin, Sports Coordinator, MVJCE, and Sri. Udaya Kumar V, PED, MVJCE. The knock out matches were conducted from 4^th May 2022 to 12^th May 2022.

17^th Dr. M. V. Jayaraman Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament – 2022 – Batsman from BMS Institute of Technology playing an excellent drive towards mid-off against SJC Institute of Technology

17^th Dr. M. V. Jayaraman Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament – 2022 – MVJCE Team won the Second Round against SJCIT and qualified for Semi-final held on 11th May 2022

The Final match was between MVJCE and MSRIT on 12^th May, 2022. The toss was won by MVJCE who elected to bat first, and scored 83/10. MSRIT chased the target to 84/0 and won the final match against MVJCE.

In the 17^th Dr. M. V. Jayaraman Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament – 2022, MSR Institute of Technology have become the champions.

The Valediction function was held at the MVJCE Auditorium on Founder’s Day, on 17^th May 2022. Padma Bhushan, Dr. B. N. Suresh, Chancellor, IIST, Thiruvananthapuram and Chairman, Board of Governors, MVJCE, and Dr. P Mahabaleswarappa, Principal, MVJCE, presented the Runner-Up Trophy along with certificates and cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- to MVJ College of Engineering, and gave away the Winners Trophy along with certificates and cash prize of Rs. 15,000/- to MSR Institute of Technology.

17^th Dr. M. V. Jayaraman Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament – 2022 – MVJCE won the Runner-Up trophy. Certificates and Cash prize of Rs.10000/- were awarded, in the presence of Padma Bhushan, Dr. B N Suresh and Dr. P Mahabaleswarappa, on 17th May 2022.
