Guest lecture on Polymers for advanced engineering applications

Department of Chemistry, MVJCE, organized a Guest Lecture for Second semester Chemistry cycle students, at Auditorium on 07.07.2023 from 11.00 am to 01:00 pm. The lecture started with an invocation song by from ‘H’ section, followed by introduction of the Guest Dr. Natrajan Kandaswamy director of Vijaya Lakshmi polymers, Bengaluru, by Thanushree from ‘D’ section. Dr. M. Shwetha, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry honoured the Guest with a bouquet and spoke about the importance of ‘Polymers and its applications in daily life’.

Dr. T. S. Kavitha, Scientist, CMTI, Bengaluru, presented the Lecture on Material Characterization and Engineering Applications, their Introduction, Instrumentation and Applications. The Speaker explained the techniques and analysis done for various metal oxides and composites. She also detailed the morphological and functional properties of the catalysts determining FESEM, AFM, XRD and HRTEM analysis.

Hon’ble Principal Dr. P. Mahavaleshwarappa gave a talk on the relevance of the Lecture topic, and pointed out that it will be very useful for the students to enhance their knowledge and skills. Dr. Parthasarathi Bera, Principal Scientist, NAL, Bengaluru, presented a Lecture on ‘XPS and XRD: Fundamentals and Applications’, on 28th January, 2023. The Lecture was on X ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and X ray Diffraction Spectroscopy (XRD) - introduction to these, their instrumentation and applications.
