BOS meeting of ECE and IIOT departments was conducted on 3rd September 2022, in Seminar Hall 4, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, in the presence of members from Academia, IISc., Alumni and Industry body – Prof. Anandi Giridharan (Principal Research Scientist, IISc., Bangalore), Dr. Senthilkumar (Professor, Dept. of ECE, Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore), Mr. Bejoy John (Alumni - Senior Director, GE Aviation, Bangalore), Mr. Gowrish Banavathi Vishwanath (Alumni - Specialist, Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions, Bangalore), MVJCE Principal Dr. P. Mahabaleshwarappa, Vice Principal Dr. Brindha M, HOD Dr. I. Hameem Shanavas.

After the Introduction by Dr. S. Sajithra Varun, Assistant Professor, Department of IIOT, MVJCE, Principal Dr. P. Mahabaleshwarappa welcomed the gathering. The session was then taken over by BOS Chairman, HOD ECE department, with detailed presentation of the scheme and syllabus for the academic year 2021-2022.

HOD Dr. I. Hameem Shanavas began the presentation with the overall credit distribution as per NEP, Schemes of both ECE and IIOT departments, followed by the detailed syllabus for each semester. Valuable feedback was given by the stakeholders, evaluating each syllabus specifically. The amalgamation of the existing subjects and introduction of new industry-oriented courses in the syllabus was appreciated by everyone. Prof. Anandi Giridharan IISc.emphasized on paper presentation and contribution to society in the curriculum, for moulding the future engineers of tomorrow.

Mr. Bejoy John, Senior Director, GE Aviation, suggested that the IIOT scheme can be framed as per data acquisition, data engineering and data visualization. He appreciated MVJCE for starting IIOT, one of the few top colleges, globally, to have this discipline. He also suggested that projects should be continued for forthcoming batches for the enhancement of Industry-Academia Research and Development Projects.
Mr. Gowrish Banavathi, Specialist, Robert Bosch Engineering and Solutions, pointed out that a sound curriculum is necessary for students to function effectively in future, in an industry working environment. He suggested that the important basic courses need to be focused.
The meeting concluded with the HOD’s assurance of taking up all suggestions for improvement. Finally, Dr. Sugumar, Professor - Electronics and Communication department, MVJCE, presented the vote of thanks.
