At the recently conducted KSCST Innovative Project Competition, students from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) department displayed remarkable innovation and engineering expertise. The event took place at Alva's Institute of Engineering and Technology, Moodubidire, on the 11^th and 12^th of August 2023. The culmination of their efforts resulted in an outstanding achievement, with one of their projects earning the prestigious "Best Project of the Year Award" at the State-Level Project Expo.

In the initial phase of the journey, students from the EEE department participated in the KSCST Innovative Project Competition, where they demonstrated their exceptional ingenuity. Impressively, three projects from the department garnered recognition and were selected for funding – a testament to the students' dedication and the department's commitment to fostering innovation.

Continuing their journey to success, two of the selected projects were further elevated to the state level, making it to the prestigious State-Level Project Expo. This platform not only showcased the department's dedication to cutting-edge research but also presented an opportunity for students to interact with fellow innovators and experts in the field. The crowning achievement of the event came in the form of the "Best Project of the Year" award bestowed upon the project titled "Design and Hardware Implementation of PV-DSTATCOM for Power Quality Improvement." This outstanding accomplishment highlighted the project's exceptional quality, creativity, and real-world relevance. As a well-deserved recognition, the project's team was honoured with a coveted cash prize of Rs. 8,500.

The winning project, "Design and Hardware Implementation of PV-DSTATCOM for Power Quality Improvement," was guided by the esteemed Dr. Soumya Mishra, Head Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Ms.Gayathri R., Assistant Professor of EEE Department. Their mentorship played a pivotal role in steering the project to success, inspiring students to push the boundaries of innovation and achieve remarkable results.

The EEE department's success at the State-Level Project Expo demonstrates the institution's dedication to fostering an environment of innovation, research, and excellence.
