35th Graduation Day

MVJ College of Engineering celebrated its 35^th Graduation Day, on 27^th November, 2022. MVJCE, positioned among the top 10 Engineering colleges in Bangalore, has always aimed at enhancing our students’ skill development and thinking capabilities, which have in turn helped them achieve academic excellence, consistently. This year was no different – we take immense pride in the fact that our students have secured 19 ranks, 2 Gold medals in UG, and 3 Gold medals in the PG programmes, in the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) examinations.

At MVJCE, Graduation Day is more than just a customary ceremony. It is a day of celebration when we laud all the hard work put in by our students and salute the efforts put in by both our students and teachers – efforts that have helped our students emerge as successful Engineering graduates.

On the Graduation Day, the energy of our graduates was unmatched as they were ushered into the College, for the most awaited event of their academic life, amongst their friends and teachers. Before the Graduation Day program began, a photo session had been arranged for all the graduates from every department, capturing their memories on camera along with their HoDs, sharing the stage one last time.

The Graduation Day function was presided over by Chief Guest Shri. A. S. Kiran Kumar, Former Chairman, ISRO, Bangalore, who had graciously accepted our request to be present amongst our students, even amidst his busy schedule. The procession of the dignitaries began at around 2:30 pm.

Chief Guest Shri. A. S. Kiran Kumar, along with Principal, Dr. Mahabaleswarappa, Vice Principal Dr. M. Brindha, Registrar & Controller of Examinations Dr. M. A. Lourdu Antony Raj and 13 Heads of Departments were welcomed to the dais by the host of the event, Prof. Alamelu Janaki (English department).

The celebration began with an Invocation song by Ms. Navya, seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha.

Our beloved principal Dr. P. Mahabaleswarappa delivered the Welcome Address and presented the College Report, highlighting the achievements of the 2021 Graduates and 2022 Postgraduates. He then requested the Chief Guest to declare the 35th Graduation Day open. Following this, Vice Principal Dr. M. Brindha gave a brief introduction of our Chief Guest.

In his Graduation Day address, the Chief Guest Shri. A. S. Kiran Kumar emphasised the importance of a continuous learning process. He encouraged the students to acquire new skills and be competitive in the technologically evolving world. He motivated the students by comparing the position of the Indian Space Exploration program in 1957 when India was struggling to launch a single rocket, to its position now in the year 2022 when it is capable of placing 57 satellites in orbit using a single launch vehicle. He also pointed out that significant improvements have been incorporated in the areas of weather alert systems, environment monitoring, navigation, fishing, and communication systems, using these satellites.

Following the Graduation Day address by the honourable Chief Guest, the Registrar and COE of MVJCE furnished the Graduate details and declared the autonomous Batch of MVJCE 2022 as Graduates. After this, Certificates were distributed to all the Rank holders and Graduates of 2021 and Post Graduates of 2022. They received their degrees and a memento, in remembrance of all the good times at MVJCE.

The Graduates were then administered the oath, and they promised to work for a better world, pledging to use their knowledge in socially responsible ways. This was followed by the Conferment of the Degree, led by Principal, MVJCE, Dr. P. Mahabaleswarappa.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by our host Alamelu Janaki, where she thanked our Chief Guest for his presence, our Management for providing the opportunity to host one of the biggest events of our Institution, our Graduates, Coordinators of the event and all those who were involved in making this event a successful one.

The Principal MVJCE, Dr. P Mahabaleswarappa, then dissolved the 35^th Graduation Day ceremony. Finally, the dignitaries and Heads of Departments headed back to the robing chamber, in a procession, to mark the end of Gradation Day.
