RV College of Engineering bags Dr M V Jayaraman Memorial Cricket Cup 2019
Bangalore, April 1, 2019: M V J College of Engineering, Whitefield organized the Dr. M V Jayaraman Memorial Cricket Tournament in memory of Founder Chairman Dr. M V Jayaraman. This tournament is regarded among the best in the University. State-wide colleges participated in the tournament. 16th memorial inter-collegiate leather ball cricket tournament 2019 was organized from 25th March 2019 to 29th March 2019. The coveted and respected Dr M V Jayaraman Memorial Cricket Cup for the year 2019 was presented to the winning team from RV College of Engineering, who bags the total Prize money worth Rs.25000/-.
The chief guest of the event was Sri. A V Jayaprakasha, Ex Ranji Cricketer & International Umpire, Karnataka and the function presided by Dr. Nagaraj Sitaram, Principal, MVJCE. Around 12 teams from different institutions from all over Karnataka participated. The matches held at Athena Sports, Varthur. The knock-out matches were conducted by the trained umpires.
The final match was held between RV College of Engineering and CMR University on 1st April’ 2019 at Athena Sports, Varthur. The team from RV College of Engineering won the finals and CMR University was the runner-up of the competition. The prize distribution ceremony held on 1st April’ 2019 at Smt. Rajalakshmi Jayaraman Seminar Hall, M.V.J. College of Engineering, Bangalore at 12.30 PM. The Principal of M.V.J. College of Engineering presided over the function and distributed the prizes and certificates to the winners and runners.
