Extension and Outreach program on ‘Awareness Program on Clean and Green Energy’
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized an Extension and Outreach program on ‘Awareness on Clean and Green Energy’. The event was held on 13th December, 2022, at Government High School, Doddagattiganabbe, from 1.00 pm to 3.30 pm. Four students from 5th semester and four from 7th semester, EEE department, MVJCE, participated in the event. They were accompanied by Dr. Suresh Rao, Professor of Practice, Prof. Vaishali N B and Prof. Bini Babu, EEE Department, MVJCE.
Our students explained the necessity for clean and green energy and the basic operation principle of solar cell and wind turbines. This was followed by a demonstration, using models of wind turbine and solar panel. Animated videos on the operation of solar cell captured the attention of the young learners at the school.
Our students initiated a brief discussion on the ways to reduce household energy consumption and the school students participated actively giving their suggestions and coming up with new ideas to reduce energy consumption.
Outcome of the event
During the event, our students were exposed to an environment that is different from the environment of their college. They got the opportunity to interact with school students and address their queries. This developed a sense of confidence in the minds of our students. They were happy to have created an awareness among school students about the necessity for clean and green energy and ways to reduce energy consumption.
