Five-day Faculty Development Program on Research Methodology and Data Analysis

Event Details

As a researcher, it is mandatory for one to understand the basics, have a core idea to satisfy the purpose of Research and establish an acceptable conclusion. This FDP provided an opportunity to the academicians to enhance their researching skills and understand research methodologies. This FDP program covered aspects relating to literature review, framing objective, collection of data, analyzing the data and finally framing it into a research paper or patent or funded proposal. This FDP aimed to orient participants towards developing their own research plan, with due attention to every stage of research.

With this objective in mind, Dept. of Information Science and Engineering, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, along with IQAC, MVJCE, Bangalore, organized a Five-day Faculty Development Program on ‘Research Methodology and Data Analysis’, from 25.01.2021 to 30.01.2021. 66 faculty members and research scholars participated in this program.

On 25^th January 2021, the Five-day Faculty Development Program on ‘‘Research Methodology and Data Analysis’ started, with a welcome address by Dr. Sanchari Saha, HoD, Dept. of ISE and Prof. Bhagyalaxmi S K, Assistant Professor, Dept. of CSE. Following the welcome address, Dr. Sreejith S S started his session on ‘Research Problem identification and formulation’. During his lecture session he discussed about the following aspects:

On 27^th January 2021, Dr. Nivethitha S from National Institute of Technology, Trichy, delivered a lecture on ‘Research design, Sampling, Data Collection’. During her lecture session she dealt with the following topics:

On 28^th January 2021, Dr. J Kirubakaran from National Institute of Technology, Trichy, delivered a lecture on ‘Interpretation of Result and related tools’. He covered the following topics in his lecture:

On 29^th January 2021, Dr. M Kalidoss from Opeconsiva TeX Makers, Tiruchirapalli, delivered a lecture on ‘Latex Tool Usage’. In this lecture he discussed the following topics:

On 30^th January 2021, Dr. Aghila G, Professor from National Institute of Technology, Puducherry, delivered a lecture on ‘Guidelines on Thesis writing, Writing a research paper, Patent and Funded research proposal’. She discussed in detail, the following topics:

Outcome of the Event:

This FDP oriented the participants towards developing their research plan, with due diligence to every stage of research.
