The Department of Chemistry organized club activity entitled ‘CHEM LIFE’ on the topic ‘Model Making Competition on Energy Storage Devices and Electrochemical Experiments’, on 5th April 2021, at R & D Lab, Chemistry department. The event started at 10:45 am and ended at 3:00 pm.
Students found the event very interesting, interactive and beneficial and actively took part in this club activity.
In this round, each group had to give a brief description about their model idea and application, through a power point presentation. Seven teams participated in this round which was for 30 minutes. At the end of the Round I, all the teams were selected for Round II.
The seven teams which participated in this round started making their models and charts on energy storage devices and electrochemical experiments. Fulfilling all the mandatory requirements, the teams completed their work by 1:30 pm.
The team members then demonstrated their model in the presence of jury members, HOD and faculty members. The Jury judged the teams, based on the demonstration done by the team members and their model. Certificates were awarded to all the participants, and cash prize, along with certificates of appreciation, was given to the students in the winning teams. The event came to a close at around 3:00 pm, after the prize distribution .
The 1st place was secured by H.C Prajwal (ISE) , K.P Hithesh (ISE) and Abhiram Dinesh (ISE) for the model ‘Coin Battery’.
The 2nd place was secured by Gaganasree (DSE), B.S Shreya(ISE), Deepthi M (ISE) for the model ‘Electroplating of Iron plates by Nickel, Copper and Aluminium’.
The students found the event very interesting, interactive and beneficial. All the teams demonstrated their model with great thought, pitched in new ideas and actively took part in the club activity.
